Capes & Cats

Madera South Pi day 2012.
dig it.

so i definitely believe that you should tell people what you're thinking.
I'm not saying to be super blunt or rude or anything.
I just think it's pointless to beat a round the bush.
just tell me what you're thinking, I can't read your dang mind.
Anyway
speaking my mind isn't really a problem, but doing what i want to do is.
Not that i want to do bad things, I just have to talk my self into doing what i want. I mostly just let other people do it and then kick my self because I regret not doing.
A lot of times i end up saying, "I should have" and i don't like that.

Yesterday was some of both.
some of the coolest guys ever invited me and a friend to go out somewhere, and they're cute too, so of course we said yes. Then it started raining so plans were changed. I decided not to meet up with them because I over analyze everything and worry too much.
It turned out that i totally should have gone. and i would have had tons of fun and laughed way too much and gotten kicked out target and bought a sweet wind breaker.
But I didn't.
and then i was mad.
But it's okay because there was a church dance and i got to hang out with my friend's adorable family beforehand. And we decided to be crazy and dress up.
she was a crazy cat lady and i was a supermom.
the theme was: 'when i grow up...'
so i wore a cape. and consequently spun around all night so it would lift up and look cool. I also crept around like Garamel a few times...because well, I AM Gargamel.. but anyway....

Story time:

This adorable little boy asked me to dance. He was honestly like a foot shorter than me and he looked like he was eight years old.
presh.
So we're dancing. and he's got that thing going where he's barely letting his fingers touch you, but at the same time, he's pushing you away? And he's definitely doing the Mormon boy sway, but he's not turning. so we're just going side to side slightly. yeah. awesome.
I'm trying to make small talk and my cheek itches. So instead of using the hand on his shoulder, you know, the one that's closest to my face? I use the hand that's clasped to his. As I'm pulling my and to my face to subtly scratch my cheek...His pinky goes up my nose.
yuppers.
It was cute.
I freaked out and started apologizing.
He just wiped his hand on his jeans and kept dancing.
But then he wouldn't answer my questions.
Or ask me any.
so we swayed for another awkward minute and when the song ended he bolted.
literally sprinted away.
ah, the embarrassment.
good times.

I'm grateful for crazy friends.
and cool guy friends who are honestly just good people.
I'm grateful that my brother is marrying the love of his life in the temple this weekend.
and i'm stoked for all the family time that will happen this weekend with ALL my brothers and sisters.
It has been WAY too long since we've all been together.

Have a good week, go to Donny's reception
and come to SEUSSICAL the musical.

cheeseburger Love,
Mel.
