six happys

I woke up Wednesday morning, and doggone it, it was raining.
Don't get me wrong. remember this? I love rain.
But it was just one of those days...
we all have those days every once in awhile.
Because you didn't get into BYU... or because the love of your life was voted off "The Biggest Loser". You are very close to failing your Spanish class. you're reading a depressing book about a dystopian society. You just want to know what he's thinking. You miss big siblings that don't live at home. your sore throat is lasting forever. and that one girl who is completely capable of tipping your happy wagon over and spilling all the rocks out just got on your last nerve.

I have a happy wagon.
have I talked about Stargirl?
I haven't. I should. I will. I promise.
It is my favorite book in the entire world. (please don't confuse 'book' with 'series'. nothing will ever pass up harry potter, don't you worry.)
Jerry Spinelli Inspirational wonderful amazing best book ever in the history of the world minus the bible i want to be stargirl caraway i wish i had a Leo in my life or a rat just kidding i hate rats but i do have a happy wagon just like her best book in the world
that was all in one breath.

anyway.

I have a happy wagon.
it's from my best friend/neice Natalie.
there are rocks. 20 of them in all.
when i'm un happy I take one out.
When I'm happy I put one in.

All day Wednesday i was in one of those trances. you know the one. walking like a zombie. ignoring everything.  and as soon as i got home i realized how stupid it was to be moping around all day.
So for the past two days I've been focusing on the rocks in my wagon. why are they there?  What makes me happy? I came up with a few

1) I'm in an amazing play. that I'll end up explaining in a future post. probably. The play is "Seussical the Musical" it's fun. it's crazy. I love it. and my costume is purple. go see it, please.
2) My brother is getting married!! In case you missed that post, Donny is getting married on the 24th and it's getting more and more exciting! cake, dancing, love, dresses, and the most gorgeous couple on earth? yes please.
3) my friends seriously rock. you'll probably be meeting them here one by one slowly on days when i have little to post about. and when i have an hour to breathe. so actually? probably never.
But really, they're incredible.
Brandon, who is sick as a dog and still plays in baseball games (stud) rescued a freshman's wallet the other day in a extremely humble super hero fashion. (double stud) and speaking of freshman, Marissa is willing to have a picnic with me in the middle of lunch. at school. in front of people. complete with a basket, a blanket and some random taco shells from my grandpa. aaaand to top it off, the boys who joined us may or not have been completely adorable. aaaaaand they may or may not have been 14.... we're just that cool.
I coaxed my Spanish teacher into letting us watch Selena instead of taking a test today. I'd call that a victory.

This week, I played Taboo, Went to the 3rd baseball game of my high school career (the number will grow), decorated a balloon for a best friend, ate three fortune cookies, wrote on envelopes, celebrated a holiday that only comes once every four years, planned a secret secret for a different best friend, and I just watched the same random super old  video 17 times. and cried from laughing. I love some people. Heck, I love YOU! I painted a poster, hung up fliers, ate 9786248 chocolate chip cookies, sang in a choir and wished My future Husband Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) a very Happy Birthday from across the Atlantic ocean. what more could a girl want? And why should i let one unhappy day ruin six happy ones?

Happy Birthday Dr.Seuss
and Happy Friday everyone!
love, love, and some more purple love,
Mel
