Reunion: The end

After lunch we hung out at home for a bit, ate dinner and then headed back to the park for an evening with our Niland cousins! My mom's side of the family. it's been way too long since I've seen many of them, so it was great to catch up.
the girl cousins all sat on a blanket and talked for hours, which i was totally fine with. I stared at Maris for like, ever. those knee dimples. i'm dead.

\

We played Kub, which i love to watch my brother in laws play because not only do they get really into it, but they're SO GOOD! i don't even attempt to play with them, because i'd be demolished. But Raycelan was a good sport and joined in with Derek's help.

My uncle Jeff was hilariously commenting on his own performance the entire night. i love that man.

after the picnic, we went back to Phillip and Katrina's, put the babies to bed, and the big kids played Wackee six. AKA the most bloodthirsty game ever to be played among Hansens. I LOVE IT.

Sunday morning we all went to church together and I told Derek how much i'd missed singing with him. And Jenae. i appreciate someone who alternates singing Alto and Soprano so that i can alternate when i want to, haha.

After the first meeting we all went into the foyer and said our goodbyes, and I went back to little old Idaho.

Donny read out loud on the ride home, an actually super interesting true story of an antarctic exploring expedition.

We all worked really hard to keep Evelyn happy for the entire ride home, but toward the end we were kind of all losing it. and we started making our own lyrics to Les Mis songs, with Evelyn themes.
for example, this masterpiece by Christine to the tune of "Castle in a cloud":

"there is a bottle in the fridge, i want to drink it all right now,
mom warm it up please, just a smidge, so i can wipe away my frown"

or something like that.

and just like that i was back in RExburg. doing homework and eating pie and i was sad t find that i felt like i hand't even gone to St.George. that always happens to me. as soon as i get home, POOF! it's like it never happened. but the feelings are still there.
